Project Overview
The Brief
The website was designed primarily for parents, so it needed to feel modern, clear and easy to use rather than overtly childish. At the same time, it had to make it immediately clear that the books and materials were created for young children.
The client wanted a bright, high-contrast and memorable website. The design also needed to work naturally with the supplied book illustrations and coloring-page content without allowing them to overwhelm the overall layout.
The website needed to present free downloadable coloring pages, introduce the printed book, and provide a flexible structure for future releases.
Visual Direction
The visual system is built around a vivid purple-to-pink gradient combined with generous white space and soft pastel accents.
Bold typography establishes a clear hierarchy, while pale blue, pink and lilac organic shapes soften the layout and give the website a playful character.
Small stars and translucent color shapes move gently in the background, adding depth, playfulness and a subtle sense of motion that makes the website feel more lively and engaging. The animation is intentionally restrained, keeping the focus on the content and calls to action.
